The Defence of Procyon III Pre-Order Store

Created by Will Townshend, PSC Games

From prolific designer Dávid Turczi comes the wargame for the eurogamer: The Defence of Procyon III. In this smart sci-fi struggle, one-to-four players take control of unique factions as part of a team-based conflict. The card-driven battle wages over two boards using 120 amazing miniatures, with humans defending against invading aliens on the surface and orbital space of Procyon III. Played competitively or cooperatively, the highly asymmetric gameplay involves four different card-based combat games interacting with each other and continues until one side has achieved victory in this previously insignificant corner of the galaxy. The world of Procyon III is brought to life by the evocative art of Jakub Politzer (Adrenaline, Sanctum).

Latest Updates from Our Project:

A Special Thank You & Tabletop Gaming Magazine!
almost 4 years ago – Fri, Apr 24, 2020 at 11:32:21 PM

It's Day 4 and what a great day it is... we're funded!

To thank you all for your contributions to the campaign and bringing us this far, we're adding player boards for each faction to the standard pledge. Three of these are brand new, while one reworks the Directive board that you've seen already for the Principal faction. They will be printed on hard paper and are all the same depth (images below are constrained). These boards provide a nice organizational solution during play while also showing off Jakub's beautiful artwork. Take a look!

But that's not all!For those of you who are into miniatures, we have an additional special treat coming on Monday that will be included in each standard pledge. Here's a hint: though it's something we've had planned, it's also something we've seen requested in the comments!

Finally, we want to share that The Defence of Procyon III landed on the cover of the latest Tabletop Gaming Magazine! In addition to the cover, there's a full interview with Dávid Turczi included in the issue. You can order a print or digital copy of Issue #42 here.

Thanks again for your support of the campaign. Now that we're funded, we've definitely earned that 'covergame' status and are well on our way to unlocking some fun stretch goals!

What's in the box? And an AMA with Dávid Turczi!
almost 4 years ago – Fri, Apr 24, 2020 at 04:10:34 AM

Hello all, and welcome to Day 3 of the campaign!

We'd first like to tell you about an AMA (Ask Me Anything) happening today over on r/boardgames with our designer Dávid Turczi. The thread is live now, so you can post a question right away.

Dávid will be answering questions starting at 12pm EDT | 5pm BST. This is a great opportunity to ask him anything about The Defence of Procyon III and its design and development, and about his many other projects, a couple of which are on Kickstarter now: Excavation Earth & Rush MD: ICU!

We'd also like to point your attention to the new visuals that show what's in the box for this game. Check them out below!

Tabletop Simulator module now live!
almost 4 years ago – Wed, Apr 22, 2020 at 06:29:01 PM

We have exciting news to share this update, as we can now share the Tabletop Simulator module for The Defence of Procyon III. This means you can play the game right away!

Those of you who caught last evening's livestream (available for replay here) will have seen the game in action in this digital form. Now it's available for you to play it for yourself!

While the module is free, a paid copy of Tabletop Simulator is required. If you're new to the service, be sure to visit their site as they have information on current sales.

Instructions for getting started are quite straightforward:

  • Install Tabletop Simulator on Steam
  • Visit the mod page on the workshop
  • Click the "Subscribe" button
  • Run Tabletop Simulator
  • Create a new multiplayer room and load the mod

We're immensely grateful for the amazing work of "AgentElrond" in making this module a reality!

A focus on miniatures
almost 4 years ago – Wed, Apr 22, 2020 at 11:29:07 AM

Here on Day 2 of the campaign we’d like to draw some attention to the miniatures of the game. We know our liberal use of spray paint on the prototype versions used in the campaign videos have obscured some details, so here’s a closer look!

Our 3D sculpts are made by Bob Naismith (land units) and Adam Rodgers (space units). In the photos below, you’ll see 3D renders as well as painted minis by Studio j7.

The painted figures were made on a 3D printer here at PSC Games. The prototypes in the videos were made in-house using plastic injection into flexible moulds. The final production of the game will use PVC plastic – they have enough flex to make them durable during gameplay, and are easy to apply paint to after applying a primer.

You can click on the image below to see the individual 3D renders and 360-degree spins of each miniature. And if you look closely, you just might see an upcoming stretch goal in the wild!

We’re 75% of the way there, so thank you again for your continued support!

Halfway there & Livestream reminder!
almost 4 years ago – Wed, Apr 22, 2020 at 02:06:55 AM

Hello everyone and thank you for your early support of the campaign! We literally cannot do this without you and we’re really excited about what the next three weeks or so have in store.

First off, we want to remind you of the livestream happening at 10pm BST | 5EDT over on Man vs Meeple’s YouTube channel where Jeremy & Ryan will be squaring off against Mike & Robert from The Dice Tower. You can also watch over on our Facebook page. The incomparable Dávid Turczi will be on hand to teach and oversee the action.

The two teams will be playing a module of the game on Tabletop Simulator… something we hope to make available to you very soon!

Secondly, we just want to thank you for the positive and constructive feedback so far. Launching a project like this amidst a global pandemic has certainly brought its own unique set of challenges but we are doing our best to rise to them. We want you to really see how wonderful this game is and we will continue to get creative about how best to do so.
